Mother India

Indian Meal

Mother India is something of an Glasgow institution. A place that challenges pre-conceived notions of Indian restaurants as places that fill up later in the evening as drinkers begin to spill out of the bars and pubs and as places that tend to serve a standard fare.

A Unique Menu

Although it is spread out over three floors Mother India is often very busy so it is a good idea to reserve a table. While you will find the likes of Chiken Tikka and Butter Chicken on the menu, many of the dishes on offer may be less familiar. Highlights on one of the most unique Indian restaurant menu’s we have come across include the slow cooked leg of lamb (Raan for 2 people) and Haddock served with Puy Lentils.

Wonderfully Spiced and Aromatic Dishes

Whatever you order the wonderfully spiced and aromatic dishes are served up alongside a wide choice of rice, naan bread, roti and chutneys.

It may served up authentic Indian starters and mains, but Mother India (somewhat refreshingly) steers away from traditional Indian desserts. Instead tempting diners to indulge themselves with calorific treats like cheescake and banoffee pie.
